Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent got an '80s makeover in some Wonder Woman 1984 inspired fan-art. The Wonder Woman sequel isn’t planned to hit screens until 2019, but fans are already having fun envisioning how the DCEU’s stroll through the 80s could look, often with hilarious results.

With Wonder Woman having taken place during World War I, that leaves a lot of downtime for the titled superhero between the period of her breakout film and the events of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. The demigoddess hasn’t kept silent and appears to have continued her fight for justice long before Batman and Superman needed her help. Having the next Wonder Woman film take place in the 1980s does call into question what Bruce meant in Justice League when he accused Diana of “[running] away for a hundred years” due to the death of Steve Trevor. However, Gal Gadot attempted to clarify that line last year by saying Diana was always trying to protect the world during this time - just out of the public eye.

Artist BossLogic created a pair of Wonder Woman 1984 fan posters for Clark and Bruce and posted them on his Instagram. Both characters rock an '80s vibe. Clark sports a period appropriate mullet and mustache. With his new look, Warner Bros. wouldn’t have to make another attempt at digitally removing any more facial hair, a decision that continues to be criticized by fans. Bruce, on the other hand, now wears a sports jacket and fanny pack bearing the Batman logo. In order to convince others he is definitely playboy billionaire Bruce Wayne and not Batman, a solid gold B hangs around his neck. As if he didn’t look '80s enough, he carries a can of Jolt cola in his hand. Neither Jolt nor that iteration of the Batman logo would have been available in 1984 but they’re both so iconic the look wouldn’t be complete without them. Check them out below.

It's safe to say that Bruce and Clark will not make an appearance in Wonder Woman 1984. Their inclusion would stand in defiance of the already established DCEU cannon and the film is planned as a standalone. What viewers can expect is the return of Steve Trevor, once again played by Chris Pine. Fans were both thrilled and confused upon seeing a released photo of Trevor looking overwhelmed in his new setting. Audiences will have to wait to learn how he came back to life after his heroic sacrifice at the end of Wonder Woman.

News about Wonder Woman 1984 has been gradually doled out to fans. Along with a title and a release date (November 1, 2019), Kristen Wiig has been confirmed to be playing Cheetah, and Pedro Pascal has joined the cast, but his character hasn’t been revealed. With Wonder Woman 1984 still some ways off, many will have to rely on fan-art to tide them over until Wonder Woman returns to theaters.
