The trailer for Blumhouse’s eagerly awaited Halloween sequel has received the LEGO treatment from fans. Halloween is arguably the most anticipated horror movie of 2018, and will once again pit Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) against unkillable slasher Michael Myers. The sequel will also mark the 40th anniversary of the original, which is often credited with launching the slasher subgenre that later spawned Friday The 13th and Scream.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Curtis has returned to battle Michael. Curtis was first lured back for Halloween: H20, which marked the 20th anniversary of the series. Curtis has stated her intention with that project was to see what would have happened to Laurie Strode 20 years after her night from hell and to kill Michael once and for all. While she signed on believing producers shared that vision, they later insisted Michael survive for future movies. Curtis agreed to make the movie on the condition it ended with Michael’s apparent death, but later revealed the move didn’t sit well with her, and the project ultimately became a paycheck gig.

Curtis returned for a brief cameo in the opening scenes of the next sequel, Halloween: Resurrection, where the character was killed off, but Blumhouse’s new movie will ignore everything bar the events of the 1978 original. Now a new video from the LEGO Movie Scenes channel on YouTube has faithfully recreated the new Halloween movie’s trailer, recreating the key scenes with an impressive attention to details.
Halloween will also do away with the twist reveal that Laurie Strode and Michael Myers are siblings, which was revealed in 1981’s Halloween II. Creator John Carpenter has since confessed this twist was an attempt to inject something interesting into the story, as he had a hard time writing the sequel’s script and felt there was no real story left to tell after the original. This twist was always somewhat controversial among the fanbase since it provided Michael Myers with a motive, and some felt he was much scarier without one.
The new Halloween will also reunite Carpenter and Curtis for the first time since The Fog, with Carpenter acting as both a hands-on executive producer and composer. The filmmaker famously provided the scores for his own movies like Escape From New York, but the next Halloween will be one of the rare times he scores the music for another filmmaker.
