American Horror Story: Evan Peters won’t be in the next season
While every season of the anthology series American Horror Story has been an entirely new setting, the cast has remained relatively consistent over its past eight seasons. Now, it appears that’s all going to change.
Evan Peters, who’s been in every American Horror Story since the beginning, will not be a part of the upcoming ninth installment. The actor told reporters at WonderCon (via Bloody Disgusting) that “I’m gonna sit this season out.”

Peters had a starring role in last year’s heist movie American Animals and will reprise his role as Quicksilver in the upcoming X-Men movie Dark Phoenix. Not much else is known about what’s in store for season nine, other than creator Ryan Murphy said that Emma Roberts will return, and star alongside Olympic gold medalist Gus Kenworthy.

Most of the regular American Horror Story cast members returned for the show’s eighth season, including Peters, along with Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Adina Porter, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Billie Lourd, Lily Rabe, Gabourey Sidibe, Frances Conroy and Stevie Nicks; as well as franchise newcomers Joan Collins and Cody Fern.
The multi-award-winning anthology series from co-creators Murphy and Brad Falchuk aired its seventh season on FX last year. The Twentieth Century Fox Television production was renewed for two more seasons back in the fall of 2018, carrying it through to season 10.
