Arrow Season 7 Episode 21 Recap
This week’s Arrow Season 7 Episode 21 picks up immediately where the previous episode left off. Emiko blew the building, separating Oliver from the rest of the team and trapping him in the rubble. Meanwhile, Emiko has turned over the subway surveillance tapes to the SCPD, proving that Team Arrow was involved in the murder of the two security guards and the subsequent cover up.
Felicity
The SCPD raids Felicity’s office after obtaining the security tape. Officer Powell tells Felicity that she is under arrest, but Felicity uses a sonic attack in the office’s security system to get herself and Alena away and back to the team’s base of operations. Felicity tries to get the team back on communications when Emiko breaks into the headquarters. Felicity begs for her unborn child’s life. Emiko steals some of Oliver’s arrows and leaves.
Team Arrow
Diggle, Roy, Dinah, and Rene get back on their feet and begin searching for Oliver. Felicity manages to contact them and tell the group that Emiko has turned over the tape to the SCPD. Roy feels terrible that they lied to protect him, putting everything that they worked for all year in jeopardy. In order to prove himself to the team, Roy braves a deadly gas in order to turn off the building’s emergency generator before it can ignite the chemicals and blow the building to the ground with Oliver and the team still inside.
Oliver
Oliver imagines Tommy with him in the rubble. In Oliver’s vision, Tommy helps Oliver free himself from the rubble and from the building’s lower floor. Tommy tries to show Oliver that continuing his relentless pursuit of Emiko has him just as trapped in his family’s cycle of violence and destruction as the rubble has him trapped beneath the collapsed building. Oliver says that his family will never be safe as long as Emiko lives. He has to deal with her as ruthlessly as Emiko dealt with their father.
Oliver envisions himself rejoin the rest of the team. The group is surrounded by Emiko and the 9th Circle. While Team Arrow fights the assassins, Oliver chases Emiko. When Emiko tells Oliver that she knows about the baby, Oliver fires one of Emiko’s arrow back at her and kills her. As Emiko is hit, the rest of Team Arrow falls with Oliver’s arrows in them.
Oliver awakens from his hallucination when the team finds him still trapped in the rubble. Upon returning to headquarters, the team gets an alert that the Green Arrow is attacking the SCPD. When they arrive, Emiko as the Green Arrow has stolen the bio-weapon. Oliver pursues her to the roof, where he refuses to kill her. Emiko escapes with the weapon.
GalaxyOne
In the future, Felicity works to hack the Archer program powering GalaxyOne’s Zeta soldiers. She finds Alena and forces her to help shut down the program. Meanwhile, Will is upset that Felicity is still pushing him out of her life. He decides to take matters into his own hands and download the program from the GalaxyOne CEO’s office, where he and Rene are captured. Felicity and the rest of the vigilantes are arrested by Zeta soldiers.
