Actor and cosplayer Chloe Dykstra has addressed the reinstatement of ex-boyfriend Chris Hardwick as host of Talking Dead after an internal investigation cleared him of accusations of physical, emotional and sexual abuse.
Dykstra made the allegations last month in an online essay in which she identified her ex only as someone who grew from “a mildly successful podcaster to a powerhouse CEO of his own company.” However, many outlets and industry watchers immediately picked up on his identity. Hardwick, who co-founded Nerdist Industries in 2012, subsequently confirmed Dykstra was referring to him with the release of a denial of her allegations. AMC swiftly removed Hardwick as moderator of its Comic-Con International programming, and pulled Season 2 of Talking with Chris Hardwick from its schedule, pending the completion of its investigation.
I originally wrote my essay so I could move on with my life, and now I intend to do so. Thank you, again, to those who have supported me during this. pic.twitter.com/sjBEKGpY7v

In a statement posted Thursday on Twitter, Dykstra wrote, “I originally wrote my essay so I could move on with my life, and now I intend to do so.” She also said that she refused to participate in AMC internal investigation.

“I have been adamant since I came forward with my essay that I never set out to ruin the career of the person I spoke about,” she wrote. “I could have provided more details on the matter but chose not to. I have said what I wanted to say on the matter and I wish to move on with my life. I chose not to participate in the investigation against the person I spoke of. For that reason, I do not believe in an eye for an eye, and therefore I have only shared my evidence with those who I felt should see it.”
Yvette Nicole Brown, who was named interim host of Talking Dead two weeks ago, will anchor a Walking Dead Season 9 preview special on Aug. 5. Hardwick will be back in the host’s chair on Aug. 12 for the return of Talking Dead.
