Slade Wilson, aka Deathstroke, was created by Marv Wolfman and George Perez and first began appearing in DC Comics in 1980’s The New Teen Titans #2 and has since been seen as an archenemy to the team’s leader, Dick Grayson, aka Robin. He has previously been seen in the cartoon iterations of Teen Titans, including the recently acclaimed Teen Titans Go! to the Movies voiced by Will Arnett, and has seen multiple characters donning the Deathstroke mantle in The CW’s Arrow, namely Manu Bennett (The Shannara Chronicles) as Wilson, and on the big screen in a cameo in Justice League portrayed by Joe Manganiello (Rampage), who is attached to play the role in a solo film.
Titans’ Slade Wilson/Deathstroke is described as known for being DC’s deadliest assassin. While serving his country, Slade became an elite soldier before government testing enhanced his physiology to near superhuman levels, putting him on a path of darkness and revenge. To his family, Slade is a father and husband, but to the rest of the world, he is feared by many as the infamous Deathstroke; selling his services to the highest bidder as the ruthless assassin that never gives up and never misses.
Titans follows a group of young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.
The series stars Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) & Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Hawk and Dove, Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.
