Fox’s Sisters drama pilot adds Megalyn Echikunwoke
Following the recent announcement that Brittany Snow has boarded Fox’s new drama pilot, Variety brings word that Megalyn Echikunwoke (Late Night) will also be starring in the pilot based on the Endemol Shine Australian series Sisters.
Echikunwoke, who recently starred in Late Night and Night School, will play Edie, a successful criminal defense attorney who is partners in both work and life with her husband. Despite her desire for stability, she’s dissatisfied with her marriage and can’t seem to scratch the itch.
In the project, only child Julia Bechley (Snow) has her life turned upside down when it’s revealed that her father, a pioneering Nobel Prize-winning fertility doctor, used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children over the course of his career. Reeling from this explosive revelation, Julia discovers two new sisters — her former best friend (Echikunwoke) and an ex-Olympic athlete. Against all odds, the women attempt to form an untraditional family and lean on each other as they grapple with their own identity crises.

Annie Weisman (The Path) wrote the script based on the Australian series created by Jonathan Gavin and Imogen Banks that starred Maria Angelico in the lead role. That series ultimately launched as a Netflix Original Series on September 1, 2018.
Jason Katims will executive produce the pilot alongside Wesiman, Leslye Headland, True Jack’s Katims and Jeni Mulein, Banks and Endemol Shine North America president Sharon Levy. Headland will also direct.
Snow is most known for her work as Chloe in the popular Pitch Perfect series, and will next be seen opposite Rosario Dawson, Gina Rodriguez and LaKeith Stanfield in the romantic comedy Someone Great.
