Noted fan of The Witcher, Henry Cavill, has been reimagined as the titular character in a breathtaking piece of fan art.
Fresh off the success of his memorable appearance in this summer’s Mission: Impossible — Fallout, Cavill expressed an interest in portraying Geralt of Rivia in the upcoming Netflix adaptation of the popular dark fantasy franchise. In response to Cavill’s interest going public, fan account BossLogic posted an image on his Instagram account of the actor as the eponymous monster hunter complete with his trademark silverly hair and facial scars.

A television adaptation of The Witcher was first announced by Netflix in May of last year with The Defenders‘ writer Lauren Hissrich attached as showrunner and writer of the series’ pilot. The production is currently in the scripting phase for its eight-episode first season with a planned premiere for 2020 on the premium streaming service.
As casting for the series is expected to begin soon ahead of its planned principal photography in Eastern Europe. With Cavill an avid fan of both the original fantasy novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski and its popular video game adaptations, perhaps the actor is looking to make the jump from the DCEU to Rivia.
