David Ozer, President of IDW Entertainment, is stepping down from his position at the prominent production company.
Ozer has reportedly reached this decision out of the desire to become an independent producer. “This was a difficult decision to make, as I am extremely proud of what we have achieved with IDW Entertainment, but also incredibly excited by the opportunities in the independent producing market today,” Ozer said in a statement.

Ozer’s exit was officially announced by Kerry McCluggage, CEO of IDW Media Holdings, IDW Entertainment’s parent company.
“David has been with IDW Entertainment from the beginning and, along with his team, helped build IDW Entertainment into a thriving independent production company and we wish him well in his future endeavors,” McCluggage said. “We look forward to building on the solid foundation of our entertainment division by developing and delivering even more quality productions to the television and film markets.”
This departure comes at a rather peculiar time, given the number of significant IDW projects currently underway with Ozer’s name attached to them. Ozer is an executive producer for Wynonna Earp, which was recently renewed for a fourth season by Syfy; Locke & Key, which has received a 10-episode series order at Netflix; and V-Wars, which has also been ordered to series by Netflix.

Whether or not Ozer’s name will remain on these projects is unclear at the moment. Furthermore, Ozer’s successor as president of IDW Entertainment has yet to be named.
