Don’t expect to see the Heroes for Hire in Iron Fist Season 2. At Comic-Con International in San Diego, Danny Rand himself Finn Jones revealed that Mike Colter, who plays Luke Cage, will not appear in the sophomore season.
“Well, Mike [Colter] isn’t, unfortunately, in Season 2,” Jones said. “I wish he was! I love working with Mike. I hope to see more Heroes for Hire in the future. I think it’s a great pairing. I think Heroes for Hire and Daughters of the Dragon is just like gold. So hopefully that will happen later on down the line, but right now we’re just focusing on a true Iron Fist story.”

“But also look, having Simone [Missick] with us and having Misty Knight with us, it keeps the shows — like the rest of all the shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe on Netflix — they’re all interconnected, right? And so having Simone, it keeps that alive,” added showrunner Raven Metzner. “So there’s moments I think you guys will see where we refer to stuff that’s going on in other shows and it feels — we’re firmly in the timeline and in the universe.”
Ahead of Iron Fist Season 2, Jones guest-starred in an episode of Luke Cage Season 2. Appearing in “The Main Ingredient,” Danny paid Luke a visit at the behest of Claire Temple, who was worried about her beau. However, it looks as though Luke won’t repay the favor when Iron Fist Season 2 hits Netflix next month.
Arriving Sept. 7 on Netflix, Marvel’s Iron Fist Season 2 stars Finn Jones as Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Simone Missick Misty Knight and introduces Alice Eve as Mary Walker.
