Starz
American Gods, Season 2 Premiere: Based on executive producer Neil Gaiman’s novel, Season 2 will shift the fight towards a crisis point as the destinies of the gods and men collide. In the bigger, darker, and more bizarre season, it’s the old gods versus the new gods in a battle for worshippers, revenge, and to not be forgotten. American Gods Season 2 will be available to stream this Sunday on March 10.
Now Apocalypse, Series Premiere: If surreal coming-of-age stories are in your wheelhouse, look no further than Starz’s new comedy series Now Apocalypse. Centering on a character named Ulysses (Avan Jogia) and his friends, the series explores identity, sexuality, and artistry while navigating the strange and bewildering city of Los Angeles. Along the way, Ulysses becomes troubled, questioning if his increasingly foreboding premonitory dreams are some kind of dark and monstrous conspiracy, or maybe he’s just smoking a little too much weed. The series premiere will be available to stream on March 10.
Netflix
After Life, Series Premiere: From the mind of Ricky Gervais, After Life explores the tricky concept of living after suffering the death of a loved one. After his wife suddenly dies, Tony (Gervais) decides to live long enough to punish the world by saying and doing whatever he likes from now on, not caring about himself or anyone else. His new life’s journey proves to be difficult, though, as everyone seems determined to save him from himself. The dark yet relatable comedy-drama will launch on March 8.
HBO
The Case Against Adnan Syed, Series Premiere: In a true story brought to global attention by the hugely popular Serial podcast, The Case Against Adnan Syed will explore the 1999 disappearance and murder of 18-year-old Baltimore County high school student Hae Min Lee, and the subsequent conviction of her ex-boyfriend Adnan Syed. The documentary series closely re-examines the events leading up to Hae Min Lee’s disappearance, presents new discoveries, groundbreaking revelations, and cultural conflicts. The four-part documentary series will be available to stream on HBO Now and HBO Go on March 10.
Amazon Prime Video
Tin Star, Season 2 Premiere: Starring award winners Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks, Season 2 of Amazon’s thriller picks up where the first season left off. Jim Worth (Roth) plays a former British detective turned small police chief living with his family in the small town of Little Big Bear. The town is overrun by migrant workers from a massive new oil refinery, setting off a wave of organized crime. The second season finds the unlikely hero cut off in the remote Rockies wilderness with his grieving and shell-shocked family struggling to come to terms with their ordeal. The new season will launch on Amazon on March 8.
Hulu
A.P. Bio, Season 2 Premiere: NBC’s sitcom starring Glenn Howerton, Miles Griffin, and Patton Oswalt follows disgraced Harvard philosophy scholar Jack Griffin (Howerton) as he is forced to return to his hometown of Toledo, Ohio as an advanced-placement biology teacher. Instead of teaching the class, Jack focuses on how to get revenge on his former rival, as one does, while the principal attempts to rein him in. Will Jack’s new plan to write a book in Season 2 help him to escape Toledo? Find out when the second season begins streaming on March 8.
Renewals
The Haunting of Hill House, Season 2: In recent renewal announcements, Mike Flanagan is bringing back the hit horror series for another season with a twist. Officially established as an anthology series, the second season, titled The Haunting of Bly Manor, will feature new stories, new characters, and a new haunted setting. This next installment will be based on gothic horror tales from Henry James, namely The Turn of the Screw. The Haunting of Bly Manor will launch on Netflix in 2020.
The OA, Part II: The OA is also returning for a second season with a recent trailer revealing how bizarre the next installment will be. The mind-bending show will continue its exploration into the notions of the self, life, death, identity, human connection, and what lies beyond. The Season 2 plot will apparently be split between two parallel universes. It wouldn’t be The OA without some exhilarating oddities. The OA: Part II will stream on Netflix on March 22.
No Activity, Season 3: CBS All Access is bringing back their cop comedy series for a third season. Executive produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay, the series is set against the world of a major drug cartel bust following two low-level cops who have spent far too much time together in their squad car. In Season 2, the detectives stake out the seedy underbelly of a cockfighting ring while their police department is rocked by a massive corruption scandal. The first two seasons of No Activity are available to stream on CBS All Access.
