Actor Mark Hamill is set to appear in Avengers: Black Panther’s Quest. However, exactly who he would play on the show was unknown until the Marvel Animation panel at this weekend’s New York Comic Con, where it was revealed Hamill would play Arnim Zola.
“At episode 13, the show takes a shocking turn,” Marvel Animation VP Cort Lane told “Some amazing things happen and some horrible things happen and then Black Panther goes on a quest where he gets to meet Black Panthers from the past.” One of the first ancestors that T’Challa will meet will be the WWII Black Panther. Lane claimed that it was during this arc that Hamill would appear as Zola.

Hamill’s and Stan Lee’s appearances on the show were confirmed at this year’s Comic-Con International in San Diego. However, their roles weren’t previously known. Although there’s still no confirmation, it’s likely that Lee’s role will be a cameo. Hamill is known for his voice work on such series as Batman: The Animated Series, Avatar: The Last Airbender and Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Hamill has played Zola in other Marvel Animated series in the past, including Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man.
Black Panther’s Quest, which is the fifth season of Avengers Assemble, premiered on Sept. 23.
