NBC renews all 3 Dick Wolf Chicago drama series
All three of the Chicago-set dramas from producer Dick Wolf have been renewed by NBC, according to Deadline. This gives Chicago Fire an eighth season, Chicago P.D. a seventh season, and Chicago Med a fifth season. All three of the windy-city-set dramas are amidst their most-watched seasons, the network noted.
“We remain in awe of the job Dick Wolf, our producers, casts, and crews do in creating some of the most compelling television today,” announced Lisa Katz and Tracey Pakosta, Co-Presidents of Scripted Programming at NBC Entertainment. “The Chicago franchise is a linchpin of our schedule and we’re thrilled that audiences have embraced our Wednesdays with such incredible passion for these shows and characters.”

Chicago Fire, the eldest of the three series, is an edge-of-your-seat view into the lives of everyday heroes committed to one of America’s noblest professions. For the firefighters, rescue squad and paramedics of Chicago Firehouse 51, no occupation is more stressful or dangerous, yet so rewarding and exhilarating. This season, Chicago Fire has had its second crossover with Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med. The three series first overlapped back in 2016.
