Ike Barinholtz has joined the cast of Amazon’s upcoming political thriller series The Hunt. According to Deadline, Barinholtz (The Oath, The Mindy Project) will join the previously announced Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, Glenn Howerton and Josh Radnor.
The Hunt is slated hit theaters October 18 via Universal. There’s still no official word on the film’s plot, but it’s said to explore the escalating aggressiveness between the political right and left in modern-day America.
The script comes from Damon Lindelof (Watchmen, The Leftovers), Nick Cuse, with Craig Zobel directing, who’d previously worked with Lindelof when he helmed some episodes of The Leftovers. Universal execs Erik Baiers, Jay Polidoro, and Mika Pryce will oversee the project on behalf of the studio. The film is produced by Jason Blum and Lindelof, via his White Rabbit banner. Cuse and Zobel will serve as executive producers.
Barinholtz was last seen in his The Oath, which he also wrote and directed. He’ll appear in Jordan Peele’s upcoming reboot of The Twilight Zone.
