The third season of The CW’s Riverdale will feature a flashback episode titled, “The Midnight Club,” which will pay tribute to The Breakfast Club. Fittingly, the episode will guest star Anthony Michael Hall, who famously played the character of Brian R. Johnson (aka the Brain) in the iconic ’80s teen film.
Hall will play the part of Riverdale High Principal Featherhead. He will also be the second Breakfast Club alum to join the Riverdale cast as a guest star, with the first being Molly Ringwald, who plays Mary Andrews (Archie’s mother).

An official release from The CW announcing Hall’s role and explaining the premise of “The Midnight Club” reads as follows:
In RIVERDALE’s “Breakfast Club” inspired flashback episode, we learn dark secrets from when the adults were high school students. Anthony Michael Hall will play Principal Featherhead, the longstanding principal at Riverdale High who gets caught up in the game the teenagers are playing in an unexpected way. The episode of RIVERDALE titled “The Midnight Club” will air Wednesday, November 7, 2018 (8:00–9:00 pm ET/PT), on The CW.
Additionally, series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa posted a yearbook-themed teaser poster for the episode on Twitter, which prominently announces Hall’s role, as well as pictures of Riverdale‘s older actors in their formative years with some humorous captions.
