As previously reported, the forthcoming second season of Fox’s X-Men-centric series The Gifted will introduce the character Twist, an all-new addition to Marvel’s mutant lore. Previously, all showrunner Matt Nix could say about the character was that she “plays a big role in the season.”
However, TV Line provided fans with a few new details as to exactly who Twist is. While her mutant powers are still being kept under wraps, Twist is described as “a mutant who initially comes across as a sweet wounded bird but reveals herself to be a sociopath who lives for chaos.” Additionally, the report reveals Twist will, in fact, be played by series newcomer Anjelica Bette Fellini, who previously played the titular character in the 2017 short film Margot.

The Gifted Season 2 will pits mutant against mutant. Given what we now know about the mysterious Twist’s personality, it should be interesting to see if she will actually pick a side or simply march to the beat of her own drum. In any case, The Gifted‘s sophomore season is certainly shaping up to be explosive.
Returning for Season 2 Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Fox’s The Gifted stars Stephen Moyer as Reed Strucker, Amy Acker as Caitlin Strucker, Sean Teale as Eclipse/Marcos Diaz, Jamie Chung as Blink/Clarice Fong, Coby Bell as Jace Turner, Emma Dumont as Polaris/Lorna Dane, Blair Redford as Thunderbird/John Proudstar, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren Strucker, Percy Hynes White as Andy Strucker and Skyler Samuels as the Frost Sisters.
