An extended preview has emerged for Fox’s The Passage, which is based the Justin Cronin post-apocalyptic book trilogy of the same name. The series tells the story of Project Noah, a government experiment meant to make humans impervious to disease. Instead, the subjects are infected with a virus that transforms them into dangerous, vampire-like creatures.

Titled “The Most Important Girl in the World,” the new trailer focuses on the relationship between orphan Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney) and Federal Agent Brad Wolgast (Mark-Paul Gosselaar), who is sent to collect her to be used in the experiment but decides to go on the run with her instead. He eventually earns her trust and becomes a surrogate father to her.
The Passage will premiere on Fox January 19. Written by Liz Heldens and executive produced by Ridley Scott and Matt Reeves, the series will star Saniyya Sidney as Amy Bellafonte, Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Brad Wolgast, Caroline Chikezie as Project Noah’s lead scientist Major Nichole Sykes, Vincent Piazza as the ex-CIA operative Clark Richards, Jamie McShane as former scientist Tim Fanning, Brianne Howey as inmate Shauna Babcock, and Emmanuelle Chriqui as Wolgast’s ex-wife, Dr. Lila Kyle.
