Released this past June on the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, Vampyr follows Doctor Jonathan Reid who rises from a mass grave near London in 1918 as a vampire. Torn between his oath to preserve life as a physician and his newfound bloodthirsty nature, Reid begins to master his new inhuman abilities as he investigates the cause of a deadly epidemic plaguing the city.
The popular video game went on to sell 450,000 copies in its first month of release and receive acclaim for its gloomy, atmospheric setting and painstaking detail in recreating post-World War I London with players able to explore the setting in a semi-open world adventure across the city’s four districts. After the game’s reveal at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in June 2017, the game was regarded as one of the most eagerly anticipated titles announced at the show.
